On behalf of Florida Hospital Celebration Health, we are pleased to announce that we are the Official Medical Provider of the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Weekend to be held from Thursday, January 5 - Sunday, January 8, 2011 at the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort.
Florida Hospital Celebration Health will be providing complete medical coverage for the event. We invite you to be part of the elite medical team that will provide pre- and post-race support for the 55,000+ runners over their journey.
The WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Weekend is the largest sports event in Central Florida. A unique opportunity exists here for you to exercise your skills in a field that will feature runners and wheelchair competitors from around the world, while providing support to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the official 2012 race beneficiary. World-class athletes will be competing against each other for the fastest times, but most of the participants will be fulfilling a lifelong ambition just to triumph over the marathon or half marathon distance.
We need State Certified/Licensed MDs, DOs, PAs, DPMs, ARNPs, RNs, ATCs, PTs, LMTs, PMs and EMTs to volunteer their time to work the Marathon Weekend. We also welcome students of these professions to apply. Members of the Medical Team must be willing and able to work as early as 2:00 am until as late as 3:00 pm (not all shifts will be this early or this late)
PLEASE NOTE: We will need a greater number of volunteers for the Marathon (Sunday) versus the Half Marathon (Saturday). So please do not be discouraged if you volunteer for both days and are only accepted for one of them!
